The RISE Business Awards were formed to celebrate Western Australian businesses and was open to all private or public organisations – large and small, old and new and the awards provided an exciting opportunity for local companies to showcase their recent achievements. and were presented at a cocktail function at the Crown Perth Grand Ballroom on Wednesday December 2nd, in front of more than 500 people.

This year, businesses’ have faced the exceptional challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic. Government lockdowns and travel bans have taken their toll on earnings, employee safety and business operations. In a rapidly changing landscape, business has had to respond with agility and courage to ensure continuity and liquidity.  Amongst tough competition from new tech and construction companies, Suzanne Dodds took Centre Stage to collect the first of 8 awards presented on the evening, after what turned out to be a memorable announcement after a slip-up by MC for the evening & media presenter Tracey Vo.

In a clip that later saw social media followers calling it a “Miss Universe” moment, Vo announced Protective Engineered Safety as the winner only to realise she had read the last name on the previous prompt card. This drew a gasp from the audience but became a point of conversation and friendly banter for all that attended, before correcting herself and announcing the rightful winner.

The RISE judging panel consisted of a ‘Who’s Who’ of some of Australia’s best business minds, were asked to assess business’s who have had less than three completed financial years of trading, on key criteria like their potential for business scalability & evidence of a positive or disruptive impact on an established industry using technology.  Complete Home Filtration was chosen for the first ever RISE: Start up of the Year award ahead of the other amazing business’s nominated, due to it’s strong growth in revenue, its disruptive business plan and its potential to scale.

Complete Home Filtration was also nominated for the Showcase and highly coveted award for the evening in the heavily contested ‘WA Business of the Year’ award, but was pipped at the post by integrated energy company UON. This RISE award win which came with a $10, 000 for Marketing purposes prize, tops off a remarkable year of growth for Complete Home Filtration, after just last month announcing a successful $2.4 million Series A funding round. Investor Andrew Sypkes of the Sypkes Group along with a second investment from the team at RAC WA’s venture capital arm BetterLabs will see Complete Home Filtration boost its industry presence.

This influx of capital plus the exposure and recognition from awards such as the RISE Business Start-Up of the Year will help to facilitate the further expansion of the business and keep Complete Home Filtration at the forefront of the industry.   Over the coming months, Complete Home Filtration will continue its expansion to provide better water for more Australians. After a successful 2020 spring launch into Queensland, South Australia is now penned in for early 2021, so be prepared to see the stunningly designed Complete Home Filtration unit on more and more homes all around the country.
